life is a test because of 4 things:
  1. we were created with the ability to think and to reason
  2. we were created with feelings
  3. we were created with desire or nafs
  4. Allah had sent us prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, to give us guidance that we should applicate and practise in our life, the guidance that came from He who posseses the knowledge about everything, He who had created us.

Because of these 4 things, life had become a test for us . For example,

One morning, you wake up, have a breakfast , dress up and go to school. At the moment we are awake , we had been tested , that is we are given permission to breath and continue life. You are given chance to decide what do you want to do with every single breath after you have been given the ability to think, to reason and differentiate between right and wrong, you have been provided with guidance and now ,your feelings and desire will make the difference in your act . And of course you will be payed with what you have worked for.

Often in life, we will face a situation where we really wanted to do something and we might think that it is good for us but islam prohibited it , in this situation , we must be patient in order to avoid the punishment from Allah due to the ignorence for what he had prohibited us from doing because, firstly, Allah is the one who had created us thus he knows best what is good or what is bad for us , He is the only one who knows eveything about us , the best and most complex creation , that is the sign that He loves us , yes , we are being loved by God , the one who is most merciful . Therefor , every law, every thing that he had planed for us for sure will bring good for us .

216. Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not. (Al-Baqarah )

5. So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief:
6. Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. (As-Syarh)

We are for sure must be patient while our patience is still rewarded with all sorts of nikmat in jannah . In akhirat if were being punished , it is the same whether we bear it with patience or not.

16. "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." ( At- Tur)
